This was indeed a great movie. very sad also BUT i feel that the book and the movie were a bit too sympathetic to him. There was actually a way to cross the river that trapped him just about 1/4 of a mile from where he died. and the guy who saw him last offered to take him to the store and buy him a few minor necessities that could had saved his life, like a compass or a good map. So yea, its a shame he had to go like that. but then again like proclaimed, he lived a happy life kudos to him
