Klarreboy....you appear to be stating that our upbringing has nothing to do with the way we turn out??? Seriously? Have a real think about that. As for your statistics comment. you're not making any sense, statistics are not right or wrong, they merely point out the facts. You are right that statistics are always based on mass, as otherwise they would be inaccurate. Of course kids do make decisions that affect their lives, but what those decisions are is usually affected by their upbringing.

This as so far been a polite discussion, and both sides have simply stated their opinions regarding facts.All you are doing is shouting (which i'm really not sure i understand as we are typing) aggressively (which I also do not understand as this is a conversation held through an internet server) and making yourself look foolish. Statistics is almost never right when it comes down to on family or person, statistics are always based on the mass and has nothing to do with the truth. It's not the parents or the family that makes a kid grow up and become a troubled person, it's the kid itself that decide what to become through the decisions that the kid makes.

Yes, but kids with alchoholic parents are MORE likely to become drinkers, once again, look a statistics. And yes, kids from 'normal' families can develop problems too. That is obvious, we do not live in a perfect world. But that does not meann we should compromise - just because some 'normal' families have problems doesn't mean we should subject children to even more turbulence

U know... Drinking parents don`t mean that kids are goin` to be alcoholics. And from the other side, someone can live in "normal" family and suddenly become addicted.U know what I mean...
