On the night of April 14th, 1912, the R.M.S Titanic, bound from Southampton to New York, on her Maiden Voyage, collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The iceberg ripped open the first 5 compartments and the Titanic sank in the early hours of April 15th, taking the lives of 1,523 men, women and children. ONLY 705 survived that night. Here's how that ship met its doom.

Thankyou for sticking up for the builders of Titanic however they deemed themselves British not Irish, anyways I bet people from Belfast would know more than anyone on Titanic, with OUR minds and hands we created her after all!!!

My gr-grandmother, her mother and siblings were among the survivors. What's never mentioned is the series of explosions. Possibly the water hitting the coal/engines? I've always wondered if the explosions are what tore the ship in half by blowing out the bottom or sides? My great grandmother was 4 when it sank. She said she remembered the cold and hearing a woman screaming "God have mercy!" she said that it was like the ship was sucking in the ocean and a strong force was pulling them backward.

That is wrong. The Titanic did not rise that high before breaking. That is about a 30 Degree angle before it broke. It broke at a 10Degree angle. And the metal on the ship was not metal that was usully used for building ships. It was much lighter. Making the ice deafeating the Titanic. If the builders of the Titanic were not so fucking LAZY the Titanic could have possiably survied and not many lives had been lost. But alot of people were involved with all the lives that were taken.

I saw a piece of the hull at the Titanic exhibition. It appeared to literally snap in two, it wasn't really bent at all. Shattered like a broken egg shell.
