Most cops are rough guys not afraid to do a bit of mischief. Aas long as you show them the proper respect they will honor your rerquest. - provided you get your point across in the proper manner. Respect means a lot of things. Placing your hands on the wheel, overhead light on takes away the tension of a traffic stop and right away you are ahead of the game. The stereo is turned off, your attitude is pleasant, you don't try a tired old bullshit line he's heard a million time. etc

This video is designed to win in court not win the police encounter. If you clearly articulate you do not consent to a search it WILL be thrown out of court. Of course you will not get your contraband back. You still have to pay for a lawyer, bail, towing. The best thing is not to carry contraband . If you must bring pot bring joints that can be swallowed or put the loose pot in the watch pocket in your jeans.Always be prepared and you'll be ok. I hide cash in the air breather of my car

This isn't a "bad" representation. It's a possible one. Would it make sense to prepare someone on how to deal with a polite, law-abiding police officer who informs you of your rights? Not really.Would you want to know what to do if you come across a cop like this? Hell yea.

your unfortunatly right. In this situation, by the time you have said "I don't consent to searches" the cop has his taser out and your pissing your pants.Point is if you do the right thing and your "alive" to go to court, the judge will trample the cop for trampling your rights (maybe)
